This weekend: live music, Bastille on Bishop, Phantom of the Opera

The Kessler welcomes the return of Roky Erickson on Friday, July 13, with special guest James Hall and the Futura Bold. Dallas-born Erickson is famous as the voice and creative force behind the 13th Floor Elevators, pioneers of psychedelic rock. Tickets are $20-$30 at Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 8:30 p.m.

This week’s live music series at The Belmont, from 8-10 p.m. Friday, July 13, features Devon Leigh.

The third-annual Bastille on Bishop starts at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Enjoy wine, crepes, baguettes, music and all things French in the streets of Bishop Arts.

The Tyler Street United Methodist church hosts a screening of the 1920s silent film “Phantom of the Opera.” Benjamin Kolodziej will play the organ score to the movie. The movie starts at 7 p.m. and is free.
