Tony Montana and Alabama Whitman are coming to Oak Cliff. Or rather, the Texas Theatre is taking us to them. First, it’s a trip to ’90s Detroit with “True Romance” Nov. 30-Dec. 2. “Detropia,” a documentary about the downsizing of Detroit opening Nov. 30, looks fascinating.

And then we’re off to ’80s Miami with a screening of “Scarface” Dec. 6-9.

Bring it home for holiday shopping Dec. 8 with a 16-mm print of Fred Weiseman’s 1983 documentary about Neiman Marcus during the holiday season, “The Store”.

Drink your Ovaltine for “A Christmas Story” Dec. 20 and afix your optigrab for a 35-mm print of Steve Martin’s “The Jerk” Dec. 13.

Comedian Neil Hamburger returns to the theater Jan. 11, this time with Tim Heidecker of “Tim & Eric: Awesome Show Good Job.”

Since we’re planning, save the date for the second-annual Oak Cliff Film Festival, June 6-9.
