Early voting starts today

Chances are, you either have no decision to make in the city council election, as District 4 councilman Dwaine Caraway is running unopposed. Or you have a Sophie’s choice in District 1, where redistricting forced incumbents Scott Griggs and Delia Jasso to run against each other.

There is also a school board race, for which even some of the candidates seem to be ambivalent. In District 7, which represents much of Oak Cliff and West Dallas, incumbent Eric Cowan has two challengers, Raphael Narvaez and Arturo Sierra.

Early voting begins today and continues through May 7. Election day is Tuesday, May 11. Polling places, including the Oak Cliff Sub Courthouse on Beckley, are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through May 4, 1-6 p.m. Sunday, May 5, and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday, May 6.
