Fireworks on the Trinity River Saturday night

fireworksMegaFest 2013, a religious festival that I was vaguely aware of because Oprah was there, closes Saturday. And it’s going out with a bang.

The festival has hired Pyrotex Inc. to create a fireworks show from the Trinity River Bottoms Saturday night, “giving residents of Downtown Dallas and Trinity Groves a … view of the show.” Oak Cliff too.

Ollie, c’mon: I think you should lighten up a bit. Rachel was attempting to be slightly humorous while still giving a nod to a huge event in the city, and it obviously didn’t work with you. The MegaFest was a big deal; we knew all about it. But it wasn’t a neighborhood story, other than the fireworks, so we didn’t write much about it.

“a religious festival that I was vaguely aware of because Oprah was there…”

…great description. This sounds like, “I can’t be bothered to even google this event because it deals with things in which I haven’t the slightest interest: black people and gospel music.”
