Dallas ISD is hosting a community meeting on the proposed Teacher Excellence Initiative at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Latino Cultural Center on Live Oak and Good Latimer.
The district will share information on the Teacher Excellence Initiative and how it will identify, support and compensate effective teachers.
Through the proposed Teacher Excellence Initiative, the district will assess student academic proficiency to help determine teacher effectiveness. That information will then be used to make assignment decisions, plan professional development, and improve performance.
The first Distinguished Teacher reviews will be conducted in April and May of 2015.
