Buy a book, give to a literacy nonprofit

Flyer-with-vouchers-(final)Reading Partners recruits neighborhood volunteers to help elementary school students in kindergarten through second grade improve their reading skills. The California-based nonprofit is active in DISD schools including Stevens Park and Roger Q. Mills elementary schools.

This Friday, Dec. 13, you can do gift shopping and also help Reading Partners with its goal of increasing literacy.

Shop at Barnes & Noble in Lincoln Park shopping center, and 10-25 percent of the purchase price, depending on the store’s revenues for the day, will be donated to the nonprofit.

If you can’t make it out to Barnes & Noble Friday, you can still contribute by shopping online through Wednesday, Dec. 18, using the code Bookfair 11255163 at checkout.
