This weekend: Donkeys, Kidd Springs 5k and more

Ten Bells Tavern celebrates its second anniversary Saturday, June 28, and there are some real jackasses involved. The party benefits a donkey rescue, and four penned donkeys will be on hand for petting, brushing and photo opportunities. Specials include $3 Lone Star beers and $4 “donktails.”

The Texas Theatre shows the independent thriller “Hellion” all weekend. This month’s installment of Cinewilde is “Big Joy: The Adventures of James Broughton,” which shows at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

A 5k run at Kidd Springs Park Sunday benefits the Oak Cliff Boys & Girls Club. Registration and packet pick up start at 6 a.m., and a fun run starts at 7:30 a.m. The 5k starts at 8 a.m. Registration costs $20.
