Restaurant roundup: Chocolate-dipped paletas, boxed lunches, absinthe

CocoAndré Chocolatier now has frozen treats. The chocolate shop offers MaxFrut paletas, which contain 70-130 calories when ordered plain. Or they can be dipped in chocolate, and who cares how many calories that has?

Norma’s Cafe now offers boxed meals to feed six-eight people. The boxes come with an assortment of brisket sliders, chicken tenders, side dishes and a whole meringue pie for $50. The first 45 people who order the boxed meals will receive a Norma’s insulated reusable bag.

Five of the 12 restaurant’s on food critic Leslie Brenner’s “Hot List ” are in Oak Cliff: Stock and Barrel, Lucia, Boulevardier, Lockhart Smokehouse and Bolsa.

Construction has begun on Kessler Park Eating House, the new restaurant from the owners of Jonathon’s.

The new absinthe bar is open at Driftwood, and Zagat reviewed it.
