The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts offers a show of contemporary Texas regional painters at Turner House through Sunday.

Teco Theatrical Productions’ new play competition opens Thursday and runs through March 1.

Asleep at the Wheel performs two shows at the Kessler Friday. Ten Hands performs Saturday.

The Texas Theatre on Thursday screens “The Sweet Blood of Jesus,” a 1941 race film shot in Dallas. And then Spike Lee’s unrelated film with a similar title, “Da Sweet Blood of Jesus,” shows Friday and Saturday. Another movie filmed in Dallas, “Logan’s Run,” also shows Saturday. And on Sunday, the theater hosts a “movie awards watching party.” By the way, the Oscars are Sunday.
