If your medicine chest contains bottles of old prescription drugs, here is a better way to dispose them.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the Dallas Area Drug Prevention Partnership accepts prescription pills and patches for disposal on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Walgreens at Westmoreland and Clarendon.

Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet.
