The Oak Cliff Flamenco Festival kicks off with a performance and film starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Jefferson Tower. The festival, from Julia Alcantara and the Ida y Vuelta Flamenco Dance Company, runs through Sept. 24 and includes events in Oak Cliff and elsewhere.

The second-annual Rock the Cliff 5k, benefiting neighborhood high schools, starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lake Cliff Park.
