The Vaughn-brothers tribute and fundraiser is Thursday, Sept. 3 at the Kessler Theater. Tickets to the fundraising concert cost $75, and proceeds go toward building a permanent monument to Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan at Kiest Park. Carolyn Wonderland, Smokin’ Joe Kubek and Jim Suhler perform. Up for bids at auctions between sets are signed guitars from Eric Clapton and Steve Miller, a signed CD from Jackson Browne, and perhaps most epic, a plate from Austin’s BBQ signed by Jimmie Vaughan.

Sara Hickman performs at the Kessler Friday in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her album “Shortstop.”

Cinewilde returns to the Texas Theatre Friday with a screening of “The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.”

The Sunset vs. Adamson pep rally starts at 6 p.m. Friday in the Bishop Arts District. The football teams play at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Kincaide Stadium.

Crooks on Tape and New Fumes perform a 9 p.m. show at The Foundry Saturday.
