Crime news: Family Dollar robber, jail-house interview, Instagram threat

A robber has held up three Family Dollar stores on West Kiest since Nov. 11.

A would-be robber shot at a man walking from an ATM to his car around 5 a.m. Thursday morning in the 1500 block of North Cockrell Hill Road.

A 29-year-old man is accused of stealing a car from the city’s auto impound lot in West Dallas, among other recent crimes.

This jail-house interview with one of the two men suspected in a spree of Oak Lawn-area robberies is priceless.

A girl accused of making an online threat against T.W. Browne Middle School on Red Bird Lane told police she shared the threat with the picture of a man holding a gun that she found on Google because she wanted to get more Instagram followers.

In case you missed it: The Dallas Police Department recaptured a prisoner who escaped from Methodist Dallas Medical Center Thursday. They found the guy, who is accused of aggravated assault and auto theft, on Cedar Hill at Greenbriar.
