Kessler Park burglars tote booty in bins

The Dallas Police Department arrested a 51-year-old man last week after he was caught burglarizing a Kessler Park home.

At least 12 homes in that neighborhood have had break-ins over the past few weeks, according to this story from NBC DFW.

Police don’t know whether the accused, Kevin Smith, has been responsible for the apparent uptick in burglaries or if there are other people involved.

Burglars have been breaking into garages and stealing generators, bikes and tools. They put the loot into the homeowners’ own rolling garbage bins and tote them away. Burglars also have broken into cars and homes.

I don’t know. Were they using garbage bins in those break-ins too?

Is there any more info on how they access the garage if it is closed with a garage door opener?
