Sylvan Avenue construction to begin next month

Enjoy the next month, Sylvan Avenue commuters, because that roadway, between Fort Worth Avenue and Singleton, is going to be under construction for almost a year and a half.

The good news: Bumpy and lumpy Sylvan will be resurfaced and turned into a four-lane roadway with bike lanes.

The work begins in August, and the project is expected to take about 15 months, which puts the completion date in spring 2019.

The nerve, another bike lane! I mean we already have 1000s of bike lanes in town and only 6 or 7 roads for cars. That’s why everyone bikes and no one drives cars in this city! Wait no, I have that completely backwards….

Hopefully SMART bike lanes. This resurfacing and expansion is long overdue! As a gateway into Bishop Arts and beyond, glad they are finally getting around to it.
