The man continued southbound on Marsalis, and the other car turned left onto Twelfth Street, toward South Lancaster. When the car turned, the man told police, someone inside started shooting.

The man was released at the scene after being treated by paramedics. He told police he didn’t know the shooter.

This is at least the third report this year of motorists being shot by strangers in our neighborhood. A woman was shot while driving near Lake Cliff Park at noon on Wednesday, May 25. And in a separate incident, someone fired shots at drivers on South Hampton around 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, injuring one.
