Pink Magnolia, Blythe Beck’s restaurant on West Davis, celebrates its one-year anniversary from noon-2 p.m. Saturday. The invitation welcomes us to walk the pink carpet, have our picture taken with Beck and “ride our pink pony.” Whatever that is, we are sure it will be hilarious. Tickets cost $35 and benefit Genesis Women’s Shelter.

Sunset Art Studios in Elmwood presents “Sleeping Lions,” a show described as “the work of four wildcats who work in drawing, illustration, imagination, and tongue-in-cheek humor.” It opens Friday from 7-9 p.m. They’ll have live drawing from 8-9 p.m.

The Texas Theatre shows the road biking classic “Breaking Away” at 9 p.m. Friday. Stick around after for DJ sets.

The Wild Detectives offers the education edition of “Kids in the Cliff” Sunday. Storytelling at 10:30 a.m., family picnic and crafting your own books at 11:30 a.m. And then at 4:30 p.m., Josh Kumler from Bar Politics will be on hand with a discussion featuring educators, parents and a DISD trustee.
