Neighborhood development, experimental music and four more things to do this weekend

The Old Oak Cliff Conservation league kick off a series of neighborhood discussions at 6:30 tonight at Turner House. This first one focuses on “neighborhood-friendly development” and features speakers Edwin Cabaniss and Will Pinkerton. There will be a beer-and-wine bar and snacks, and it’s free.

The Wild Detectives offers an experimental music show starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with Lily Taylor, Monte Espina and Cut Shutters.

Among the many, many inauguration protests expected Friday is one at Lake Cliff Park, starting at 3 p.m.
