Dash for the Beads donates $25,000 to schools and nonprofits

Dash for the Beads, the annual 5k race associated with Oak Cliff Mardi Gras, handed out some big checks recently.

The organization donated $25,000 to neighborhood schools and education nonprofits.

Here is a list of the recipients:

Dallas Youth Athletic Association, $1,000

Felix G. Botello Elementary School, $250

GOLAZO Youth Sport Scholarship Foundation, $1,000

Hogg PTO, $1,200

John H. Reagan Elementary School PTA, $250

Junior Players, $500

Kahn Elementary School, $1,000

Kidd Springs Sailfish Swim Team, $1,000

Leopards Athletics Booster Club, $500

Promise House, $500

Rosemont Dads Club, $15,000

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Extracurricular Program, $750

Stevens Park Elementary School PTA, $500

The Kessler School PTO, $2,800

W.H. Adamson High School Dance/Leopardette Drill Team, $500
