The academies are dropout-recovery high schools with campuses in Oak Cliff, East Dallas, Pleasant Grove, Garland and Carrolton, as well as in Austin, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.

“Texans Can understands the importance of providing students with a sense of normalcy after tragedy strikes and welcomes all students to continue classes so there is not a gap in their school year,” the charter school system stated in a media release.

The school also has set aside $20,000 from its nonprofit arm, Cars for Kids, to support any teachers or students from its Houston campus who need help following the catastrophe.
