Construction on Colorado Boulevard this week revealed Oak Cliff’s old streetcar tracks.

Check out the early 1900s postcard below, with the streetcars pictured running on Colorado.

Streetcars began rolling through Dallas in 1872, and the Oak Cliff line ran until 1956. It was the last line in a citywide system that was replaced by buses.

Lake Cliff Park, which became a city park in 1914, was an amusement park beginning sometime around the turn of the century.

These also are the tracks that would’ve taken sports fans to pro baseball games at Burnett Field.
