Watch: Oak Cliff homeowner makes over gang graffiti into a mural

A spray-paint tagger vandalized a Beckley area home over and over with apparent gang graffiti.

The homeowner decided to fight paint with paint.

Ben Pyles enlisted a buddy, a graffiti artist known as Bone1, to create an Oak Cliff mural with the Dallas skyline as a way to deter more graffiti. This doesn’t always work, but the theory is that vandals are less likely to tag buildings where there is already art.

So far, the strategy has worked, Pyles told WFAA.

“This is an experiment in the making,” he told the TV station.
