All three were taken to the hospital, where Cabrera died. The ambulance driver was released a few hours later, according to the Dallas Morning News, but the medic who was in the passenger seat had more serious injuries.

A similar accident on Jan. 30 killed a woman who was driving east on West Davis. A man accused of drunk driving ran a red light headed south on Westmorland and crashed into her. In that case, the driver ran away but was arrested at a nearby house shortly after.

The driver in that case, 24-year-old Julio Cesar Menendez Guerrero, told police he was dizzy from eating Mexican food.
