Great food is not only about the ingredients, but it’s also a basic need for life and an intersection for families to come together. It’s no wonder Oak Cliff’s historic feel is one of the reasons travelers visit over and over. With its growth and changing demographics, Oak Cliff has maintained its historic climate and community champions.

As the population continues to evolve and diversify, the Oak Cliff Chamber has taken a proactive approach to carry on and strengthen the heartstrings of the community, making connections and finding common ground through the annual Taste of Oak Cliff.

With classic festival favorites and learning experiences, The Taste of Oak Cliff is a one-day event with plenty to satisfy everyone’s palate. The more than 80 vendors each bring a unique feel and experience to help carry out the vision of bringing together the community of Oak Cliff.

Kiyundra Gulley, the Oak Cliff Chamber president, knows firsthand how hard it is to find time to make meaningful service connections as well as effectively distribute information about business resources. She knows personally why taking on the monumental tasks of the Taste of Oak Cliff is not only beneficial to the local businesses but can be a big boost for the community.

“The Taste of Oak Cliff is a huge event for the Southern Sector that showcases all good things in Oak Cliff,” Gulley says.

Restaurants and food trucks from Oak Cliff and surrounding cities will serve their best dishes. On Saturday, May 4, the Taste of Oak Cliff Festivities will take over several blocks at the corner of 10th Street and South Beckley Avenue in the heart of the neighborhood and turn them into the ultimate foodie experience from noon-7 p.m. Event entry is only $5 per person for the day, and vendors will manage the sale of their dishes.
