While viewing “The Great British Baking Show,” or something similar, it can be tempting to try our own feats of baking.
For those of us who lack the skill to pull off such an endeavor, Kookie Haven offers an easy alternative. The Jefferson Boulevard bakery will begin selling its cake batter and frosting for you to take home and bake.
“We work around a lot of Millennials and Gen-Zers,” says Nita Briggs, who owns the bakery with her two sisters. “They’re really savvy, and they value their time. So we thought, ‘Why not give them a quality product that they can make which won’t sacrifice a lot of their time?’ Which is why we decided to put our product out there.”
The batters contain no preservatives, and they’re ready to bake as-is.
The flavors are chocolate, red velvet, wedding cake and strawberry, plus a vegan cake batter. They’re available starting Thursday, Oct. 24, and you can call ahead to order.
