Raising Oak Cliff, the nonprofit that started about a year ago, donated $6,000 to neighborhood schools recently.
They awarded five grants:
-
Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School, dance mirrors: $3,000
-
Sunset High School/Leadership Forward, mentoring program: $1,000
-
Adamson High School/Leadership Forward, mentoring program: $1,000
-
Sidney Lanier, band repair kit: $728
-
George Peabody Elementary, outdoor art project: $472.27
The nonprofit splintered off from the Rosemont Early Childhood PTA because some parents in that group wanted to raise money for schools besides Rosemont Elementary.
