Jesse Velasquez, 52, was standing in his front yard at about 1 p.m. Wednesday when two men wearing masks ambushed him with handguns. They robbed him of his wallet, cellphones and keys and hit him in the face with a gun.

Velasquez’s wife, Rosalinda Martinez, spoke with KDFW:

“They were asking, ‘Hey, what’s inside the house? What do you have in the house? Who’s in the house? My husband, he had a little bit of money in his wallet, and he said, ‘You know what? I have some money in my wallet. It’s in there, just get it and go. Please, just leave.’ I guess he got nervous. He just lifted up, tried to get up, and that’s when they hit him in the face with the gun.”

Police responded with a K-9 unit, but the robbers got away. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call police.
