Culture Map reported the restaurant closed “due to maintenance issues,” and that “employees were reportedly having trouble getting paid.” The restaurant’s last day was February 16.

The Bishop Arts staple served Southern fare and was a brunch hotspot before brunch was a thing in Dallas. It also predated gentrification in Bishop Arts.

Orginal chef  Estevan Galindo passed away in 2017. Hattie’s is the third long-time Oak Cliff restaurant to close recently. Bolsa and Tillman’s closed in the last three months.
