A ribbon cutting is planed at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.

This store is smaller than Ann’s original location on Zang Boulevard, but it’s packed with groceries, supplements, body care products and even zinc-infused workout gear and CBD products.

The cafe will serve wraps and sandwiches with chicken salad, tuna salad or a vegan chicken salad, plus a vegan three-bean salad and a menu of smoothies.

The grocery side has two coolers and a rack of bins for fresh produce, and aisles filled with organic and natural packaged foods.

Cafe manager Julianna Bradley says the store will have all the same products as the Ann’s store on Zang.

“It’s fun because our vendors are sending us all of their newest stuff,” she says.

The locally owned grocery opened its original store on Zang Boulevard in the 1980s, and the company also has a store in Waxahachie. The company chose the location, in a neighborhood that lacks healthy food options and grocery stores, because it’s next to the new Fitness Connection gym in the Square 67 shopping center.

The store’s staff was still stocking shelves, and plumbers were there installing a mop sink when we stopped by earlier this week. They don’t expect the cafe to open in time for their grand opening because they’re waiting on city inspectors.

But they graciously allowed us to snap a few pics inside.
