There are two cases making their way through the courts right now, both arguing that voters should be able to use mail-in ballots because of the coronavirus.

Twenty-nine states allow voting by mail for everyone, but Texas only allows certain people to vote by mail.

Texans may vote by mail if they are over 65, have a disability or illness, or are in jail. The lawsuits argue that voters should be able to use the disability category because of risk of contracting the coronavirus.

Here’s where to request an application to vote by mail. The Texas Secretary of State’s Office sends the application, and you fill it out ant return it by mail.
