75233: 333 cases
75224: 790 cases
75208: 739 cases
75211: 2,049 cases
75203: 326 cases
75216: 1,179 cases
As of July 20, 2020, Dallas reported 1,026 additional positive cases of coronavirus and 1 additional death, bringing total deaths in Dallas County to 526.
The death was a man in his 80s who lived in a long-term care facility with no underlying health conditions.
An overwhelming number of positive cases come from adults between the ages of 18-39. More than half the cases since June 1 have come from this age range, according to the county.
The increasing number of cases is attributed to social gatherings at homes, bars and other places where social distancing guidelines are not always met.
The race most impacted in Dallas is the Hispanic community. Over 1,000 cases and 100 deaths were reported as of July 2020.
The groups still at the highest risk are people over the age of 65, and people who have underlying health conditions. However, Dallas county reports that over two-thirds of Dallas’s hospitalizations come from people under the age of 65, and around half do not have high-risk conditions.
