The committee is encouraging everyone to take this survey and to share it on social media and at businesses, churches and public places.

Their challenge with the survey is getting all four ZIP codes in the district to answer, members say.

West formed the committee, whose executives are Pamela Ibarra, Brad Nitschke and Tiffany Alvarez-Thurman, in response to police brutality protests over the summer.

“He wanted to canvas the district and not just take his guidance from those who are the most vocal on social media,” Ibarra says.

The survey contains questions about children’s safety and asks respondents to rank their top concerns.
