“With Covid-19 cases continuing to significantly decline, we are confident every school can safely open to students when school starts again in August,” the district writes in a news release.

DISD has started a campaign with the hashtag #DallasISDBack2It to promote the decision, writing that students who learn on campus “significantly outperform” students who are taking classes virtually.

The district will continue following CDC-recommended cleaning and sanitizing protocols.

Superintendent Michael Hinojosa announced in January the district would not return to fully virtual learning unless forced to do so.
