Hold on to your masks, because they’ll still be required when you ride on any Dallas Area Rapid Transit vehicles.

The Transportation Security Administration extended its face mask requirement for all transportation networks, including public transportation like DART, the agency shared in a release. This masking requirement is currently set to stay in place through Sept. 13.

For DART, this applies at all times to passengers and operators on buses, trains, paratransit vehicles, DART stations, platforms, DART buildings and on-board the Dallas Streetcar, per the release. Masks must be worn over the mouth and nose and be Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approved.

Face masks and hand sanitizer are available via dispensers on DART buses, light rail vehicles and streetcars.

Those not wearing masks, unless exempted or excluded by CDC guidelines, will not be able to board or will be removed from DART transportation, the agency shared. Customer service is available to respond to passengers concerned with someone not wearing a mask at 214-979-1111 or through the DART Say Something app.
