The Carrolls started Toss Up Events in 2016, which hosted life-sized toss games at major sporting events.

Now, they’ve launched TowerBall, a competitive game that’s like a combination of darts and cornhole. It can be played from 360 degrees and is equipped with eight soft balls for gameplay. The set costs $150.

NOMAD Grills

NOMAD Grills launched less than a year ago, and it has already outgrown its Bishop Arts District space.

Entrepreneurs John Veatch and Cam Leggett spent three years designing the Maserati of portable grills because they noticed the market for portable outdoor grills was “a race to the bottom.”

They won a Red Dot Award for their design. They have customers across the globe. And now they have plans for a full lifestyle brand and a snazzy new HQ in Oak Cliff.

These “weapons-grade” grills cost $600, and a holiday bundle comes with 20 pounds of their long-burning charcoal and 20 “tumbleweed” fire starters for free.

Autside

Autside, a startup from former Lakewood resident Glen Collins, makes high-quality pickle-ball sets that also give back.

Collins, a branding and marketing executive, is a yard-game enthusiast. In post-pandemic days, he decided to leap into a lifestyle brand that puts design first in outdoor games.

A full regulation set with four paddles, a net and balls costs $725, or the $425 for the mini net set. A holiday promotion includes a racket, balls and tote for $200.

Autside has a mission of giving a percentage of sales to Autism causes, with a goal of raising $1 million in the first five years.
