Learn how to choose and plant the right tree for your yard with the City of Dallas forester and the Oak Park Estates Neighborhood Association this weekend.
The association presents “All About Trees” at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church on Kiest. City Forester Karen Woodard will give a hands-on program on tree-selection, planting and care.
Woodard will plant a chinquapin oak near where an old tree was cut down a few years ago.
November is the best month to plant a tree in our climate. The program comes two weeks after the city’s Branch Out Dallas tree giveaway, which distributed hundreds of trees, and there will be about 20 leftovers for the taking from that event.
