Spring Break has already come and gone, and our students and staff are back in school, charging toward the end of the school year. Much has been happening in Dallas ISD, which is highlighted in my newsletter below:

Dallas ISD District 7 Monthly Updates

Complete the Superintendent Search Survey Here: Dallas ISD is in the process of hiring a new superintendent to lead our schools in the coming year. Please make your voice heard by filling out the survey about what you’re hoping to see in a new Dallas ISD superintendent.
Dallas ISD World-Class Robotics Teams Advance: Eighteen Dallas ISD robotics programs — from elementary to high school — are advancing to the first round of their respective tournaments. This includes three perennial rock star programs here in District 7 — Winnetka Elementary School, Margaret B. Henderson Elementary School and Sunset High School.
Dallas ISD Names 12 Teacher of the Year Finalists: Dallas ISD has named 12 finalists for its annual Teacher of the Year award. There are four finalists in each of the three categories (Elementary, Secondary and Choice/Magnet), including one of our very own District 7 teachers — Wildrem Andrade Matamoros of Louise Wolff Kahn Elementary School.

March Board Meeting Debrief: Dallas ISD had its regular board briefing and meeting, along with a called meeting regarding the superintendent search process.

Superintendent Search Process: The board took action to finalize the job description, timeline, community engagement plan and survey that will allow us to move forward with the hiring of a new superintendent to lead our District into the future. The adopted timeline will result in us hiring a new superintendent before the start of the 2022-23 school year.
