A documentary about the PBS show Reading Rainbow premieres at the Oak Cliff Film Festival on Thursday, June 23.

A DJ set from the film score’s composer, the Octopus Project, accompanies that 8 p.m. screening to cap day one of the festival.

A Friday performance from Oak Cliff’s own Jacks Haupt precedes the documentary Mija, about a Los Angeles-based music manager, “whose undocumented family relies on her ability to break pop stars,” including Haupt. The film screens at the Texas Theatre Saturday afrternoon.

Other bold names in the festival include Jim Gaffigan, who stars in Linoleum, and Patton Oswalt, who stars in I Love My Dad.
