Frida Espinosa-Müller’s Ursula is a one-woman play that tells the story of a 7-year-old girl, Nadia, who is separated from her mother at the U.S./Mexico border.

While Nadia waits for her asylum to be processed, she reflects on the life she left behind in Honduras while reliving the arduous journey to the United States. Through original music, movement and puppets, Ursula speaks to the heart of our shared humanity as audiences experience detention through the eyes of a child trying to make sense of all that is happening around her.

Espinosa-Müller, who wrote, directed and stars in the play, performs it at the Hampton-Illinois Library’s black-box theater at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21.

The show is free to attend, if you sign up at this link.

Political organizer Ramiro Luna Hinojosa will speak following the performance.
