A state lawmaker from Oak Cliff has organized a panel discussion on monkeypox via Facebook Live at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Rep. Jessica González, Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Omar Narvaez, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, Dr. Philip Huang of Dallas County Health and Human Services and Dr. Roberto De La Cruz, chief medical officer of Parkland Hospital, will be on the feed.

“Monkeypox cases are rising in Texas and throughout the United States,” González stated in a media release. “Monkeypox can affect all individuals, and we must take steps to understand the symptoms, methods of transmission, and vaccination options to curb the spread and keep our communities safe.”
