The homegrown festival that celebrates healthy food, gardening, organic and veggies returns to Kiest Park this weekend.

VegFest is from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Kiest Park, now in full-effect after two years that were altered by the pandemic.

“We are thrilled to return to our traditional platform of classes and vendors inside the Kiest Park Recreation Center,” says Anga Sanders, who founded VegFest eight years ago.

Sanders, the founder of FEED Oak Cliff, started VegFest when she realized some of her neighbors lacked access to fresh foods.

“Dallas VegFest will feature knowledgeable speakers, delicious food, local and area vendors, professional cooking demonstrations, nutrition education, fun exercise classes, lots of free samples and vegan desserts!” says Sanders, by email.

The festival is free.
