Dallas ISD District 7 monthly updates

  • Dallas ISD holds steady on national assessment: Dallas ISD was one of 24 large urban districts to take the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) in October. This was the first national benchmark assessment since the pandemic. Dallas ISD bucked national trends to hold generally steady in reading and in math for the grades tested (4th and 8th), whereas the nation – and Texas generally –  saw declines.
  • Hogg New Tech addition moves forward: Hogg New Tech Elementary School had its official zoning meeting for the continued renovation and development of a gymnasium and additional classrooms. You can see the design presentation by clicking on the link above.
  • Old Adamson High School: Design & Construction Approved: This month, the first phase of construction work was approved for the renovation and restoration of Old Adamson High School! Additionally, a design meeting was held to share the future design and restoration of the building with the public. Thank you to everyone who showed up and has been a part of the process! Additionally, a special thank you goes to the Adamson Alumni Association for the constant support and feedback in this process. There has been talk about this restoration for many years now, and I’m thrilled to finally help move this forward to action.
  • Meals During the Holidays: Dallas ISD will be closed to students during the winter break from Thursday, Dec. 22, through Friday, Jan. 6.  However, some schools will offer free meals for children younger than 18 and students up to 21 years of age with disabilities. To learn more about the dates and the list of participating schools, visit the link above.

Upcoming Events
