South Oak Cliff high school made history last Friday, becoming the first DISD school to clinch back-to-back state titles.

A celebratory parade for the players had been planned for Friday, but expected icy temperatures have caused organizers to postpone, WFAA reports.

Meteorologists have been anticipating an “arctic blast” which will hit most of the country in the days leading up to Christmas. In Dallas, temperatures are expected to reach the low teens before windchill on Thursday and Friday.

To prevent a crowd of black, gold and blue, the South Oak Cliff parade will now be held Jan. 7.

The parade will roll at 9:30 a.m. and last around an hour, traveling from South Marsalis Avenue to Renaissance park.

Anyone interested in joining the parade can register here. There is a zoom meeting on Jan. 5 for all parade participants.
