Aside from the vehicle models and the option to drink a beer while braving traffic — as evidenced by the mustachioed man smoking a cigarette and sipping a Coors in his car on a frozen January 1977 morning — the scenes are not so different from these days.

Minor accidents were being called in at a rate of one every three minutes for 10 hours straight, according to the broadcaster.
