So says signs posted at 308 N. Bishop, a cottage adjacent to Paradiso that most recently was home to the Tipsy Elf Christmas pop up.

“An artisan loaf of bread should have long fermentation that creates a certain color, texture and flavor,” reads the company literature. “We pride ourselves in our handcrafted loaves and pastries, and nothing less than the best is adequate.”

Yum. Can you smell it already?

The boulangerie (a French word for a bake shop specializing in breads, croissants and rolls baked fresh in-store daily) started by Clint and Kim Cooper in 2004 is coming to our neighborhood in spring 2023. We’ve reached out and will post more details as they become available.

The company also offers catering services as well as special pies, breads and pastries during holiday seasons.

In anticipation, read reviews like, “Easily the best croissant I’ve had outside of France,” here on the website, visit them at nearby 1921 Greenville Ave. or stalk them on Instagram.

In other restaurant news, two spots we told you about in recent months are now open.

Staffers at El Gordo Seafood were mounting TVs on their 451 West Davis patio just a few hours before the Super Bowl on Sunday, when they held a soft opening.

The restaurant with a popular existing location on Bernal near Singleton, has a menu featuring crab leg and boiled shrimp platters, ceviche, tacos, crawfish, micheladas and cerveza plus a full bar. Seems like a good place to watch Mavs on the porch.

Another highly anticipated opening, that of La Comida Mexican Kitchen in the former Spiral Diner spot, finally happened this month.

Owner Mario Urtecho told us in November how hard his team was working to prepare the hundred-year-old building for his family operation, which fans have been awaiting since he and brother Ivan closed their beloved Addison store.

The thing to try at La Comida is the conchinita pibil pork tacos, “made with Mom’s family recipe and to this day a true favorite by all,” the brothers say.

The brothers love the neighborhood and say they have long been members of Church of Christ in Oak Cliff, and they get their hair cut at the salon across the way from their restaurant.

And happy late birthday to Mario.
