The athletic director of Hector P. Garcia Middle School was arrested Friday and charged with improper relationship between an educator and student.
Kaylen Cottongame, who is no longer listed on the middle school’s staff directory, was arrested after police say they received information that a Dallas ISD employee was involved in a sexual relationship with a former DISD student.
Police say they received that information on March 9. Cottongame, 34, was arrested on March 17.
According to court documents, Cottongame was taken to the Dallas County Jail where bond was set at $35,000. Bond conditions state that Cottongame may not have contact with anyone under the age of 18 while she awaits trial.
CBSNews reports that the alleged incident took place between 2014 and 2017.
The age and identity of the student involved have not been released.
