For nearly 10 years, the Laughing Willow operated out of the storefront at 301 North Bishop, but the shop closed at the end of 2022 after store owner Melodie Ginn decided to retire.

Over the weekend, the building’s newest tenant revealed their goods.

The new shop is called Glam House Dallas, and if you are in need of anything sparkly, ruffly, girly and pink, look no further.

This weekend was Glam House Dallas’s grand opening, but it is not the store owners’ first rodeo in Bishop Arts. The store is owned by Aimee Hughes, who opened the boutique Bella & Brawn just down the street early last year.

Glam House will be run by Hughes’ daughter, Ashtynn Hughes, and her business partner Yuli Bautista.

Hughes and Bautista describe the store as a girly yet affordable boutique for Bishop Arts shoppers.

In fact, the most expensive item currently in the store is a fully sequined formal-wear jumpsuit, which rings up for $148. Other items range from accessories in the low teens, to tops in the $40 range.

Prices may range at Glam House, but aesthetics do not. Almost everything in the store is either pink, sparkly, bejeweled, feathered, ruffled or pleated. Some items even pull together a combination of many of the above.

Disco balls are a common decor motif throughout the store, as are large gold mirrors, gold hardware to hang clothing on and statement murals.

And while Glam House sells some similar accessories to Bella & Brawn — they boast the same overflowing hair accessory table that Bella & Brawn is known for — their merchandise overall seems more clothing focused.

Hughes and Bautista said the boutique will start getting weekly shipments soon, so if you don’t see something you like today, check back in soon.

For now, this reporter suggests any Cliff Dwellers who may be looking for an outfit for the upcoming Arlington Taylor Swift concert to stop by Glam House Dallas.
