Officials first received a call for a structural fire around 4:05 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming out of the office’s second floor. The law office is located at 224 West 10th Street.

Soon after officials arrived, flames began showing through the roof, and fire fighters extinguished the fire around 5:55 a.m.

The spokesperson described the fire as “incendiary in nature,” although a suspect is not known, and it is not clear what was used to start the fire.

An employee of the office, who declined to be named, said a noticeable smell of gasoline lingered at the site through Wednesday.

“All our file cases are very damaged,” she said. “We will probably have to move locations.”

Part of the second floor of the building collapsed, but no injuries were reported. Investigators are still working to learn more about the start of the fire.
