Police witnessed a black SUV driving from the location of a shooting call in the 700 block of West Clarendon Drive Monday around 11:50 p.m.
The black SUV was later found at a local hospital.
After investigation, police determined a shooting took place at the 800 block of South Tyler Street, and the vehicle transported the two victims to the emergency room.
20-year-old Steven Mendoza was identified by police as the victim who was shot and killed. A 21-year-old man was also shot but is in stable condition. Police have not identified the second man.
