Oktoberfest Dallas is Sept. 30 at Flag Pole Hill.

You won’t spend a penny buying water at this year’s Oktoberfest Dallas. Lake Highlands Exchange Club organizers have declared disposable water bottles “verboten” on the rolling lawns of Flag Pole Hill. They’re instead asking that you bring reusables to fill at their hydration stations and keep thousands of plastic containers out of Dallas landfills. They’ll sell reusable aluminum bottles full of water for $4.

Of course, veterans of the 12-year-old event know “wasser” isn’t exactly the preferred beverage of Oktoberfest Dallas.

Beer and wine vendors will include Vector Brewing, Oak Highlands Brewery and Shiner Bock. Food will be provided by Burger Schmurger, Dog Haus, Cane Rosso, Cedar + Vine, Soul Bird, Tiff’s Treats and Pop Popcorn. Cody Canada and the Departed will headline the live entertainment, with additional sets by Hooks and the Huckleberries, The Texases, The Lab and the Oom-Pah Daddies.

Children will enjoy the Kid Zone, with entertainment by school groups and a one-acre bounce house park. Inside they’ll find a 40-foot inflatable obstacle course, an 85-foot inflatable boot camp, a 4-person bungee jump and speed pitch baseball, among other games and attractions.

Oktoberfest Dallas will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 30. Admission is $25 per person all day for adults and $10 all day for children. Kids under 4 get in free. Food and drinks are acquired using tickets, which may be purchased at a discount here. Beer and wine are $8 each and food ranges from $3-15. The Kid Zone is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free with admission.

The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands is an affiliate of the National Exchange Club and meets every Friday morning at 7 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Their volunteers have presented more than $3 million in college scholarships since the club’s inception in 1971 and even more in grants for deserving organizations. You may donate here.

Kid Zone activities including face painting are free with admission.
